At a networking-type event, you could meet someone who's worked in your field and who's making plans to move on. A partner or companion could point out that this leave an opening for you.

You could decide to take your social life by the scruff of the neck and give it an over-haul. You might also decide to put more effort into an idea that has commercial possibilities. A further option may be to revamp your image. Determination not to allow self-doubt to stop you in your tracks should enable you to get over the first few hurdles in each of these areas.
